Introducing the Payment Gateway
The Payment Gateway is an ecommerce payments service enabling real time credit card processing with no internet transaction fees.
The Payment Gateway maintains a live link between your website and the banks payments processing system. When a customer on your website submits a payment, the information passes through a secure firewall to the transaction server of a Web Secure banking partner, either St.George Bank or National Bank. It usually takes under 6 seconds for the transaction to be completed and the money is transferred to your nominated bank account.
Leading Shopping Cart software such as X-Cart, LiteCommerce, EziMerchant and OScommerce have full integration with the Web Secure Payment Gateway for an out-of-the box solution.
The Payment Gateway can also be accessed from any website regardless of where it is hosted.
Benefits of the Payment Gateway
The speed of multiple ATM links via Optus, Telstra & PIPE.
Web Secure's data centre has been specifically designed to be the most sophisticated ecommerce hosting infrastructure for SME's in Australia.
Web Secure was the first eCommerce provider to offer 'fee free transactions'. So when a transaction is made through your website, we do not charge you a fee for it*.
Typically, our competitors will charge you $0.50 per transaction on top of the bank processing fees, which soon adds up.
Acquiring an Online Merchant Account
To process online payments to your bank account, all banks require you to have an Online Merchant Account. This differs from an EFTPOS facility, because the risk profile of transactions online is different.
To acquire an Online Merchant Account, you will need to apply to the bank directly, however Web Secure can help fast track this process through one of our preferred partner banks of St George and National Bank.
If you prefer to keep your account with a different bank you can open your Online Merchant Account with our preferred partner banks and the account can be linked to any nominated bank account, e.g. Commonwealth, Westpac etc. The money is transferred at the end of each business day to your nominated account, and there are no bank fees associated with the transfer of funds.
